Commission Pays Handsomely
06 Sep 2012Commission another Goodwood/Fairdale stud bred looks set to make his mark in good company after opening his winning account in fine style at Hawkesbury at the weekiend.
The highly-regarded four-year-old overcame an outside gate and a distance short of his best to score over 1400 metres.
Prepared by master trainer Bart Cummings, Commission had weighed in once from two previous starts in the autumn.
The son of Zabeel was bred by Fairdale Stud and sold on their behalf by Amaraina Farm for $A260,000 at the 2010 Sydney Easter Sale.
He is out of the Howbaddouwantit mare Howmuchyacharging, winner of the Gr 3 Highview Stakes and placed in the Gr 1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes.
It is also the family of the Gr 3 Rupert Steele Stakes winner and mutliple top-flight placegetter Rock You.
Fairdale also sold Commission’s sister at Karaka this year for $380,000 to prominent Central Districts bloodstock agent Phill Cataldo.
He purchased the filly on behalf of clients of Mick Kent’s Melbourne stable.
The mare Howmuchyacharging is not currently in foal and will be returning this year to Zabeel.
