Quality Karaka Draft For May Sale

Goodwood Stud’s  offering at New Zealand Bloodstock’s upcoming May Sale (8-10) promises to be make an  impact for the farm.

Their O’Reilly filly (Lot 30) is out of the Australian stakes winning mare Cabazon and an internationally proven family that boasts Group winners in France and the United States.

“She’s bred on the same O’Reilly-Redoute’s Choice cross as Sacred Falls'.  William Fell said.

The son of Howbaddouwantit (Lot 235) is out of the Grosvenor mare Ostentatious, who is a half-sister to the triple Group One winner Allegrio (Waikato Draught Sprint, Captain Cook Stakes, Otaki-Maori WFA) with NZ Horse of the Year Vosne Romanee also featuring on his pedigree page.

“He’s a really smart colt and so is the Paco Boy (Lot 260) out of Polly Perkins,” Fell said.

The dam by Faltaat is a half-sister to the Gr 1 Brisbane Cup winner Art Success and the family of Gr 1 Captain Cook Stakes winner Hello Dolly.

A potential headline act among the fillies on offer from Goodwood is the daughter of Iffraaj (Lot 318) out of the Van Nistelrooy mare Striking Asset, a half-sister to this season’s winning two-year-old and Gr 1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes placegetter Constellation.

The stud will also present colts by Nom du Jeu (Lot 83), Paco Boy (Lot 176), Chinese Dragon (Lot 337) and fillies by Nom du Jeu (Lots 94, 339), Perfectly Ready (Lot 328) and Per Incanto (Lot 354).

Among the older members of the Karaka consignment is Spring Dancer, a multiple winning Danasinga mare who is in foal to No Excuse Needed. She is therefore carrying a three-quarter sibling to the champion three-year-old and triple Group One Australian Oaks, NZ 1000 Guineas and Windsor Park Plate winner Daffodil.
