Howbaddouwantit plays starring role
05 May 2013Resident Goodwood Stud stallion Howbaddouwantit gained another stakes credit at Riccarton this afternoon in the Listed Champagne Stakes.
The versatile sire’s exciting grandson Salamanca maintained his unbeaten record with victory in the feature juvenile event.
“He was up on the bit and travelling because he’s got the natural ability,” trainer Mike Breslin said.
“Rosie (Myers) said he was floundering in the ground and got to the front a bit too soon.
“He got the job done and will be back home and in the paddock on Monday afternoon for a month off.”
Salamanca will then return for the spring with the New Zealand 2000 Guineas his main aim.
He is a son Anca, who won seven races, and the current family of Howbaddouwantit’s Group One performer Demophon.
