Howbaddouwantit Colt A Cracker
25 May 2013Strapping colt Authentic Paddy can be expected to win his way thought the grades this winter following another dominant victory at Trenthan today.
The son of Goodwood Stud’s Howbaddouwantit had no trouble shouldering 59kg on his way to a third career victory from just eight appearances.
“He’s taken a couple of runs to come to it and with the weight it was a tidy effort,” trainer Lisa Latta said.
“He’s really well in himself so we’ll be pressing on with him.”
Authentic Paddy, who has only once failed to bank a cheque, sat in behind the pace this afternoon before staking his claim 250 metres from home.
The topweight comfortably lengthened stride to cruise clear and win by three-quarters of a length without undue pressure.
“He’s been carrying 59kg against the older horses before so he was a shots eye today,” rider Robert Hannam said. “He doesn’t know how to give in.”
