Forza continued his excellent run of form in Hong Kong last night with further success over 1200 metres at Sha Tin. Ridden by leading jockey Zac Purton, the lightly-tried five-year-old got home narrowly but well in a driving finish.
A son of Elusive City, the gelding has come back in grand order this preparation and was a first-up winner at Happy Valley in September off a two month break. He then posted two minor placings before striking on Sunday for his third career victory.
Forza was purchased for $15,000 from Goodwood Stud’s National Weanling Sale draft to Karaka in 2009. Out of a Howbaddouwantit mare, he is from the family of the Gr 1 Adelaide Cup winner The Hind.
