Buckwild rewarded at Ellerslie
12 Feb 2014Buckwild has made an encouraging start to his career and he was deserved winner at today’s twilight meeting at Ellerslie.
The Goodwood Stud graduate has raced well, but without luck, in previous starts and he made no mistake this time.
Given a good run by Jason Jago, he lengthened stride in good style once into the clear for a comfortable victory.
He was purchased by astute judge Paul Moroney for $18,000 from Goodwood’s 2012 Festival Sale draft at Karaka.
Buckwild is trained by Moroney’s brother Paul and Chad Ormsby, who expects the gelding to progress through the grades.
By Chinese Dragon, he is from the family of the Group one winners Trounced (Avondale Cup) and Heidsieck (NZ Cup-twice).
