Juvenile lives up to name on debut
02 Apr 2014A two-year-old with an impressive international pedigree lived up to her name at Matamata this afternoon.
Dream Run produced a perfect first-up performance to win on debut for local trainers Paul and Kris Shailer.
Bred by Goodwood Stud, who have retained an ownership interest, she is by Pins out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Run Brony Run.
“She’s a lovely filly with plenty of scope and we certainly think she can go places,” Paul Shailer said.
“She’ll do well now with four to six weeks in the paddock and the type we could get down to Christchurch.”
He was referring to the Gr.1 NZ 1000 Guineas later in the year for Dream Run.
She has a rich pedigree and is from the family of the Group One winners and top sires Flying Spur and Holy Roman Emperor.
