Pinyin strikes at Kranji
06 Sep 2014Further Singapore success came Goodwood Stud’s way last night when Pinyin added to his record at Kranji.

The David Hill-trained son of Pins had placed at his two previous starts and made no mistake with a class five win over 2000 metres.

Pinyin is out of the More Than Ready mare Gifted Lass, who is also the dam of the Goodwood sold winner Rock Express.

Gifted Lass is a half-sister to Presently, a winner of four black type races in Australia and Group Two placed.

Pinyin was originally purchased out of Goodwood’s 2011 Premier Sale draft at Karaka by Te Akau principal David Ellis for $60,000.

The Palmerston North farm was narrowly denied a notable family double when Pinyin’s half-sister Serena Miss was narrowly denied at Wanganui this afternoon.

The debutant by Iffraaj failed by only a half-neck to claim the Veandercross Juvenile Plate.
