Gifted 3YO a commanding winner
15 Apr 2015Progressive stayer Gifted Lad had no trouble justifying his hot favouritism at Rotorua this afternoon.
The three-year-old was well-supported on his return and he was a dominant winner over 1950 metres.
Gifted Lad had been given a break by Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young after his unplaced run in the Gr 1 NZ Derby.
He had earned a crack at the Ellerslie feature following a win and a runner-up finish against the older horses.
The Goodwood Stud graduate is a half-brother to this season’s Gr 2 Matamata Breeders’ Stakes winner Serena Miss.
They are out of the More Than Ready mare Gifted Lass, a half-sister to the Australian stakes winner Presently.
