Smart filly shines at trials
04 Aug 2015

Quality filly Serena Miss started off her classic year on a winning note at the Te Teko trials this afternoon.

The strapping Goodwood Stud graduate claimed her 1020m heat in dominant fashion under Leith Innes.

Trained by Graeme and Debbie Rogerson, Serena Miss made a major impact in her first season.

She won two of her five starts, including the prestigious Gr 2 Matamata Breeders’ Stakes.

The daughter of Iffraaj was bought by Graeme Rogerson out of Goodwood’s 2014 Premier Sale line-up for $65,000.

Serena Miss was an inspired purchase with stake earnings approaching $100,000 and a lucrative campaign ahead.

Out of the More Than Ready mare Gifted Lass, she is a half-sister to three winners including the Listed VRC St Leger placegetter Gifted Lad.
