Iffwedance back in business
17 Dec 2015A return to middle distance racing at Otaki brought out the best in the talented stayer Iffwedance.
He won the Horowhenua Christmas Cup in the hands of Jonathan Riddell for his wife and trainer Trina.
“I had him in on Saturday and Jonathan wanted to run there (Awapuni) for the better money,” she said.
“But I wanted to bring him back to a midweek race to get his confidence back.”
It proved a wise and successful move for Iffwedance, who has now won four times in the colours of Goodwood Stud.
“I’ve got him in the Dunstan Final and the Wellington and Auckland Cups so we’ll see how he goes,” Riddell said.
A son of Iffraaj, the five-year-old is out of the Soviet Star mare Merry Dance.
It is the Group One family of the former top race mares Fun On The Run and Tall Poppy.
