The Goodwood stud bred Iffraaj gelding Gingernuts looks like he has a bright future ahead of him. He is out of the well performed Generous mare Double elle.
Gingernuts was brought out of the NZB weanling and mixed bloodstock sale for just $5000 sold to astute bloodstock agent Phil Cataldo.
The Castletown Stakes at Wanganui on June 4 is on the radar for Gingernuts.
The Listed event became a goal for the two-year-old when he went one better at Hastings following a debut second.
“He’s as green as grass and there’s a lot of improvement to come,” co-trainer Jamie Richards said. “He’s a nice horse on the way up.”
