The Goodwood Stud graduate showed that when he opened his winning account at New Plymouth this afternoon.
Despite racing very greenly, the striking chestnut son of Fully Fledged was far too good.
Gobuyit had taken the eye on debut when he blew the start before getting home late for sixth.
“He made up some ground and I think he’s going to be a pretty smart horse,” owner-trainer Jeff Bliss said.
“He needs a reasonable track though, he doesn’t like that sloppy stuff.”
Gobuyit is out of the Fantastic Light mare Ziggyintheiddle and most notably the family of the triple Group One winner Miltak.
