Wai Knot Way Too Good
10 Oct 2012

Wai Knot added another string to his bow when he was successful on improved footing at Matamata today.

The son of Riviera handled the dead going in style after previously winning on slow and heavy tracks.

Wai Knot followed the pace to the turn and let down strongly in the closing 75 metres to win going away.

“I’ve been quite happy with the way he’s been working and he’s been building to this,” rider Cameron Lammas said.

Bred by Goodwood Stud, the five-year-old is out of a half-sister to the Gr 1 Auckland Cup placegetter Wigan Prince.

Wai Knot is trained at Matamata by Glen Old for Kilgravin Lodge principals Eion and Megan Kemp.

The chestnut now has three wins and five placings from his 13 appearances.
