Winning hand from Goodwood
08 Nov 2014Goodwood Stud has lent a winning hand to Graeme and Debbie Rogerson’s two-year-old blitz this season.
The Palmerston North farm’s graduate Serena Miss added to their remarkable tally when successful at Te Rapa today.
A strapping filly by Iffraaj, she showed her ability early when runner-up in the juvenile event at Wanganui in September.
Serena Miss was then given a break and made no mistake in going one better on the Hamilton course in the hands of Danielle Johnson.
She was close to the pace at the top of the straight and drew clear in the closing 150 metres to score by three and a-half lengths.
Serena Miss was purtchased by Rogerson Bloodstock for $65,000 out of Goodwood’s Premier draft at Karaka earlier this year.
She is out of the More Than Ready mare Gifted Lass, also the dam of the winners Pinyin and Rock Express.
Serena Miss hails from the family of Australian stakes winners Travolta and Presently and the Group Three winner Weissmuller.
